DIY Burlap Wreath

If your like me you love spending time on Pinterest getting ideas for crafts and DIY projects. This Christmas I decided to make burlap wreaths for everyone in my family & they were a huge hit! I have gotten a lot of questions on how to make them so i decided to make another and take pictures along the way to show you just how easy it is!  This wreath only cost about $8 to make so have fun with all of the money you saved and decorate for each season or holiday.
I hope this helps you get your craft on :)
What you will need:
2-  5in x 10 yards Burlap Rolls (I got mine at Michaels, with your 40% off coupon $4.28 each)
1- 18 inch wire wreath frame (Michaels- 40% off coupon- $2.80)
Florist Wire- This can be any gauge you want, I just used some that I already had
Scissors

Lets get started! I took alot of pictures because it is kind of hard to explain but I am going to try my best. Depending on how tight you want your burlap you may need another roll. I did mine medium so that allowed me to finish 1/2 of the wreath with 1 roll. Get your burlap ready to use by folding it in half, then wrap it around the middle wire ring (where the divider is) and cut a big enough section of your floral wire to attach it to the wreath. Once your Burlap is attached to the wreath you are going to loop it through the middle, then down the bottom, back to the middle, to the top, back to the middle and so on.... It is kind of difficult to start out with (I always feel like I need an extra set of hands) but once you get into the rhythem its easy! This is where you can determin if you want big loops or small loops and if you want your wreath to be tight or loose. See below:

When you are finished, flip the wreath over and use your floral wire to tie the remainder of the burlap to the wreath frame. Once this is secure you are finished!

Your wreath should look like this: Now its time to decorate!! I hope the directions and photos were helpful. If you have any questions you can email me at StephanieJennettPhotography@yahoo.com

Southern February Sunset

On Saturday night my husband & I ventured out to watch the sunset on the Intercoastal Waterway. As we watched this breathtaking sight it made me think about how easy it is to let life pass by
so quickly as we go day by day struggling to get everything done. I can't remember the last time
I stopped to smell a flower, or look up at the sky to see all of the gifts God puts before us.

We sat and watched the brush strokes as God painted the sky & I captured this beautiful moment.

I have always been fascinated with lighting, creating an ambiance & mood within my photographs.
The phonographs below portray the feeling I had while watching this remarkable sunset and include
3 of my favorite things:

Trees (I'm obsessed), Moss & Reflection

Caycee 5 months | Grand Dunes Wedding Venue

I photographed Caycee's mommy and daddy while she was still growing in her mommy's tummy. This sweet family is so much fun to be around and are good friends with my husband & me. I got the pleasure of FINALLY meeting Caycee yesterday when I went with Crysta and Jonathan to scope out their wedding venue at the Marriot on 82nd ave. It was absolutly beautiful there! My mind was overflowing with ideas, poses and everything that I want to do with that amazing backdrop!

After looking around the venue, I just had to snap a few photos of Caycee- She is sooo stinkin' adorable! This child is so photogenic and loved the camera!

Hey Ya'll!

Hey Ya'll! For those of you that don't know me, my name is Stephanie and that handsome man standing next to me is my awesome husband Joe! We live in dirty Myrtle Beach, SC and have been married for a little over a year. Joe is a Myrtle Beach Fire Fighter ( I love a man in uniform!) and I work at WBTW News 13 (CBS affiliate) as the Interactive Sales Coordinator. I am pretty much in love with my job because I work with amazing people and I am able to use my creativity with graphic design!

I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelors in Fine Art. It was there that I picked up my first DSLR Camera and I fell in LOVE! Growing up I always had a camera in my hands capturing anything and everything that I could. The first photography class that I took taught me the true capabilities of this amazing instrument and gave me an outlet to express myself.

In 2012 Stephanie Jennett Photography was born.
I love to meet parents, parents-to-be & couples who are so excited and happy about their lives. I find something amazingly satisfying about imagining where these photos will be in twenty years time. I capture such brief, special moments that it is thrilling to imagine you and your children looking into the past through my work. That's what photography is all about- capturing the special moments in life because you will never get that time back.

I have always lived by the quote
"Do What You Love, Love What You Do"
I will be using this blog to express myself and to share all of my photography sessions with everyone!

Thank's for stopping by and I'll see ya soon :)
